• Mark A. Adams

    CEO, Sebago Technics, Inc.

    Mark Adams is the Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair of Sebago Technics, Inc., Maine’s largest employee-owned engineering and design firm. A seasoned executive with more than two decades of leadership at Sebago Technics, Adams is recognized for his strong organizational development experience, strategic vision, and commitment to advancing employee ownership and innovative design solutions.

    Adams joined Sebago Technics in 2005 as Executive Vice President before being appointed President and CEO in 2011, a role he held until January 2026, when he transitioned to Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair as part of the firm’s long-term succession planning. During his tenure, he has guided the company through significant growth, service expansion, and its continued evolution as a 100% employee-owned organization.

    Before entering the engineering and design sector, Adams built a distinguished public-sector career.

    He served as Assistant City Manager for the City of Auburn for nearly nine years and previously as Assistant City Administrator for the City of Lewiston for a decade. He also held the role of Director of Human Resources at the Maine Turnpike Authority, broadening his experience in government operations, workforce development, and organizational management.

    Adams holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Maine, where he was active in student leadership and service organizations. His professional strengths span land development, municipal processes, civil engineering and surveying industries, nonprofit leadership, ESOP governance, and public speaking.

    In addition to his executive responsibilities, Adams has contributed extensively to regional and industry boards. He serves on the Board of Directors of several ESOP companies. His volunteer leadership includes long-standing service with organizations such as the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council, Central Maine Medical Center, the ESOP Association, and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), where he has served in multiple governance and committee roles.

  • Linda Ball

    President and CEO, Central Maine Power

    Linda Ball was appointed President and CEO of Central Maine Power (CMP), a subsidiary of Avangrid Inc., in September 2025. Linda has 30 years of experience in the energy industry with a strong foundation in customer service and operational leadership. She began her career as an entry-level customer service representative at CMP’s sister company, New York State Electric and Gas, and has since held key roles in customer service and smart grid operations. Her appointment as President and CEO reaffirms CMP’s commitment to putting its customers at the center of the company’s operations.

    Since relocating to Maine in 2012, Linda has been a driving force behind CMP’s storm response and customer service improvements. As Vice President of Customer Service, she led efforts that earned industry recognition, including an Edison Electric Institute Emergency Response Award. She also drove initiatives to exceed regulatory performance metrics.

  • Deborah Bronk

    President & CEO, Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences

    Deborah Bronk is the President and CEO of the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences. Bronk is an oceanographer who has participated or led over 50 research expeditions, was elected president of the Association for the Sciences of Limnology & Oceanography and The Oceanography Society, director of the Division of Ocean Sciences at the National Science Foundation, and chair of the Council of Scientific Society Presidents, which represented over a million scientists in the US. She currently serves as past-chair of the UNOLS Council, which oversees the US research fleet of ships. She is committed to service to Maine and currently serves on the Maine Space Corporation board, the Maine Innovation and Economy Advisory Board, and Focus Maine’s Bioscience Advisory Team. She is the founder of the Maine Marine Science Consortium and co-founder and treasurer of the Research and Education Coalition for Ocean Sciences, which advocates for investment in ocean infrastructure and fosters policies that keep U.S. ocean science at the forefront of discovery and innovation. In 2025, MaineBiz named her the Innovator of the Year.

    Laney Brown is the Vice President of Sustainability at Avangrid where she leads the Sustainability strategy and coordination supporting Avangrid as a leading US energy company.

    She has experience in both regulated and unregulated energy including leading the start-up of a new retail renewable energy business as well as leading innovation and strategy for grid modernization and future utility strategy.

    Laney served on the US Department of Energy's Electricity Advisor Committee (EAC) for 5 years and recently completed the Aspen Institute’s First Mover Fellowship. Laney is a graduate of Colby College as well as having a double MBA with a focus on the Global Energy Industry from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland and the Universidad Pontificas Comillas in Spain.

    Dan Burgess was appointed Acting Commissioner of the Maine Department of Energy Resources in 2025, after serving as Director of the Governor’s Energy Office since 2019.

    Dan advises the Governor, leads the Department, represents Maine in regional and national forums, and serves on the boards of the Efficiency Maine Trust, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, and the National Association of State Energy Officials.

  • Bradley M. Campbell

    President, Conservation Law Foundation

    For over 30 years, Bradley M. Campbell has been a leader in strengthening the nation’s environmental laws, holding polluters accountable for harms to our health and environment, and accelerating clean energy deployment.

     As Conservation Law Foundation president, he has dramatically expanded the organization’s impact and success in reducing climate-damaging emissions, securing remedies for environmental injustice, addressing new pollution and safety threats from extreme weather, and conserving New England’s iconic ocean resources.

     As the former commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Campbell permanently protected over a million acres of watershed lands and launched a program to address industrial pollution that has yielded over $3 billion in compensation and natural resource restoration.

     Campbell earlier served as a Regional Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; as a senior White House official; and as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice.

  • Georgina Campbell Flatter

    CEO, Greentown Labs

    Georgina Campbell Flatter is Chief Executive Officer of Greentown Labs, the world’s largest climate and energy startup incubator. She has an exceptional blend of nonprofit executive leadership, entrepreneurial experience in the climate and energy industries, and a strong technical background. Most recently, Flatter was Co-founder and Executive Director of TomorrowNow.org, a Gates-backed nonprofit pioneering innovative approaches to connect next-generation weather and climate technologies with communities on the frontlines of climate change. Prior to founding TomorrowNow.org, Flatter spent a decade at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she was a senior lecturer and led global initiatives at the intersection of technology and social impact. Flatter earned a Master of Engineering in Materials Science from the University of Oxford and an SM in Technology and Policy from MIT.

    Alan Caron

    Founder, ClimateWork Maine

    Alan has been a small business owner, social entrepreneur , author, futurist and convenor for most of his adult life, working on issues ranging from business development to neighborhood renewal, affordable housing, transportation, telecommunications, poverty and the environment.

    He is the founder of Envision Maine and it’s successor organization, ClimateWork Maine, and has worked to promote an economy driven by Maine’s innovators, entrepreneurs and doers. He is also the co-founder of GrowSmart Maine, which works to revitalize towns and regions across the state.

    Alan is the co-author of two books, Maine’s Next Economy in 2015 and Reinventing Maine Government in 2010. From 2013 to 2018 he wrote a weekly column in the Maine Sunday Telegram and the weekend edition of the Central Maine papers, covering issues ranging from the economy to politics, world affairs, history, music and sports. He was a candidate for Governor in 2018, running as an independent.

    Alan is a lifelong Mainer, from a family of mill workers and farmers, who grew up in Waterville, Maine. He is both a high school dropout and the holder of a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University,

    Lydia Covert

    Corporate Sustainability Director, Unum

    Lydia Covert drives strategies for long-term environmental, social, and governance issues. Her passion lies in helping companies understand that sustainability and profitability go hand-in-hand. In her time with Unum, she has led cross-disciplinary teams in completing the first materiality assessment for the company, increasing sustainability disclosures through more comprehensive ESG reporting, and developing strategic sustainability frameworks.  Prior to Unum, Lydia worked on sustainability topics within the food retail sector, including seafood supply chains, internal reporting processes, target-setting and database management, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and the issuance of a sustainability bond. 

  • Brian Deese

    Co-Founder & CEO, Foundry-Logic

    Brian Deese is the Co-Founder and CEO of Foundry-Logic, an operating company focused on improving the performance of America’s energy infrastructure. Deese is currently a Mentor-in-residence at the Roux Institute and the Chair of the Climate Tech Incubator Advisory Board, as well as an Institute Innovation Fellow at MIT. Previously, Deese served as Director of the White House National Economic Council (2021-2023) and Senior Advisor to the President for Climate and Energy Policy (2015-2016). He is a graduate of Middlebury College and Yale Law School.  

  • Mike Duguay

    Commissioner, Maine DECD

    Duguay, of Waterville, started his economic development career at DECD in 1990. Prior to being appointed as the Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development, he most recently served as Vice President for Innovation and Executive Director of the Harold Alfond Institute for Business Innovation at Thomas College in Waterville. Prior to joining Thomas College in 2017, Duguay had an extensive career in business, economic, and community development in Maine.

    From 2012 to 2016, he served as Director of Business Development for Summit Natural Gas, where he managed a business sales team and directed the investment of $280 million in capital assets.

    Duguay served as Director of Economic Development for the City of Augusta from 1999 to 2012, attracting private housing development and business investment that added more than $200 million in value to the city’s tax rolls.

    From 1990 to 1998, Duguay served as a project manager for DECD's Office of Business Development and Office of Community Development. From 1998 to 1999, Duguay served as the Executive Director of the Midcoast Council for Business Development, leading

    business attraction and expansion efforts in Bath, Brunswick, and Topsham.

    A native of Fairfield, Duguay is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire.

  • Kristina Egan

    Executive Director, GPCOG

    Kristina is the Executive Director of the Greater Portland Council of Governments, an agency serving the largest metro area in Maine. The agency serves 30 cities and towns, strengthening communities and connecting the region to build a vibrant future. 

    Before joining the Council, her experience includes being the director of several statewide advocacy organizations in Massachusetts and California, working for a state DOT, working internationally on energy efficiency, and serving as a local elected official.

    Kristina holds a M.A. in International Economics and International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

  • Andrew Frederick

    Founder & CEO, Croft

    Andrew Frederick is the founder of Croft, a Maine-based company synthesizing climate-positive construction and high-performance, panelized prefab. As design partner and head of R&D for both product and process development, he brings a pragmatic and holistic ethos to his role within the firm, from working alongside alongside organic grain and wool producers to prototyping new production equipment for the factory floor. His favorite claim is that Croft is a carbon-capture company whose byproducts just happen to be food and housing. When he's not working, you can (not easily) find him outside, with his family.

  • Richard Harrison

    CEO, Standard Biocarbon

    Richard Harrison is CEO of Standard Biocarbon. Standard Biocarbon (SBC) is converting wood waste generated by Maine’s lumber industry into high-quality biogenic carbon for advanced materials and soil health applications. A cost-competitive alternative to carbon sourced from petroleum and coal residuals and mined graphite, SBC’s biogenic carbon is sustainably produced and effectively sequesters atmospheric carbon as well as pollutants found in our soils and groundwater.

    Birthed in the forests of Maine, Standard Biocarbon was founded in 2020 by Maine natives with close ties to the state’s forest and agricultural sector. From its founding, this Maine team has been motivated by the urgent need to address climate change and the environmental damage caused by harvesting carbon from non-renewable resources. Since assuming his role as CEO in April 2025, SBC’s organization has achieved a four-fold increase in sales by increasing production output and expanding into new markets. Eight months after assuming the CEO post, SBC was awarded the State of Maine Governor's Award for Business Excellence in Climate Leadership.

    Richard discovered his passion for developing solutions to challenging problems while serving as a sales engineer in the energy industry. After receiving his MBA, he joined the consulting firm Towers Watson where he specialized in post-acquisition strategy and organizational integration. For the past three decades, Richard has served as startup founder, C-suite executive and director analyzing, envisioning and navigating discontinuous change opportunities in the biomanufacturing, energy, network security and wireless technologies industries. His mission has been to develop and commercialize transformative technologies to improve both people’s lives and the environment.

  • Gunnar Hubbard, FAIA, LEED Fellow

    Co-Founder, Solen Works

    Gunnar is an architect, entrepreneur, and sustainability leader with over 30 years of global experience who founded Fore Solutions—a pioneering green building consultancy acquired by Thornton Tomasetti, where he led their global sustainability practice for 22 years. As both a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and LEED Fellow, he has shaped sustainability strategies on projects across continents. His unique combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial insight, and educational leadership—positions him as a recognized expert in scaling sustainable solutions from vision to measurable impact. He too is an entrepreneur-in-residence for the Roux Institute’s ClimateTech Incubator.


  • Philip D. Jean

    CEO, Piper Shores

    Phil Jean brings over 25 years of executive-level experience in healthcare and senior living administration to the Piper Shores Community. Raised in Lewiston, Maine, Phil graduated from Saint Dominic Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine. He received his master’s degree in healthcare administration and management from Husson College (now Husson University). Phil has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 1996 and is also certified and a fellow of the American College of Health Care Administrators. In addition to other local, state, and national committee appointments and volunteer opportunities, Phil is an exam item writer/subject matter expert for the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) and serves on the Board of Directors for both the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) and the Maine Health Care Association (MHCA) where he was appointed to a two-year term as Vice Chair in 2024. Most recently, Phil worked as the Executive Director at Seabrook, a senior living community in New Jersey managed by Erickson Living, where he was responsible for providing vision and strategic direction for a fully integrated and vibrant continuing care retirement community, serving over 1300 residents and 700 employees. In partnership with the Piper Shores Board of Directors, residents and the community team, Phil is focused on building the resident and employee culture, supporting and enhancing diversity and inclusion across the campus, expanding programs, services and amenities, and fostering a community that boasts an exceptional quality of life and experience for Piper Shores residents. Returning to his Maine roots, Phil and his family are excited to be back in his home state after working in Massachusetts and New Jersey for several years. Outside of work, Phil loves spending time with his wife, daughter and pets and enjoys traveling with family and friends, and skiing and boating on Sebago Lake.

    Executive Director, E2

    Bob Keefe is executive director of E2 (Economy + Environment), a national nonpartisan organization of more than 11,000 business leaders who advocate for polices that are good for our economy and good for our environment.

    Before joining E2 in 2011, Bob spent more than 20 years as a business, political and environmental journalist. He is the author of two books on the economics of climate change: “Climatenomics: Washington Wall Street and the Economic Battle to Save Our Planet” (2022) and “Clean Economy NOW: Stories from the Frontlines of an American Business Revolution” (2024) and co-author of several other business-related books.

    He has testified before Congress and numerous state legislatures about the clean economy and has appeared in media outlets including the New York Times, Washington Post, Fox, CNN and others.

    In 2025, Bob was named by TIME magazine as one of the world’s 100 most influential climate leaders.

    A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he now lives in San Diego.

    Jeff Marks

    Executive Director, ClimateWork Maine

    Jeff has worked for twenty years at the intersection of business, government, and the economy.

    He currently serves as ClimateWork Maine’s first Executive Director. He was previously Maine Director and Senior Policy Advocate at Acadia Center, where he works on climate change and energy issues. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director of E2Tech (the Environmental & Energy Technology Council of Maine).

    In 2010 – 2012, he served as the Deputy Director of the Governor's Energy Office. Prior to that, he worked at United Technologies as the Director of Energy and EHS Policy, and as the manager of Government Relations. From 2000 to 2004, Jeff was the Director of Environmental and Air Quality at the National Association of Manufacturers.

  • David Stapp

    President and founder of Peregrine Consulting, Inc. (PCI), Peregrine Turbine Technologies, LLC, and inventor of the Peregrine Engine

    David is a thirty-five (35) year veteran of aerospace engineering with expertise in Turbo-machinery design and analysis (military and commercial, aero and power-gen), UAV aircraft design (both rotary and fixed wing), structural design and analysis including stress and life, vibration, and buckling analysis in a multitude of industries, as well as high-end computer server design and integration. He holds a BSME from the University of Colorado. 

    David began his career with GE Aircraft Engines in 1985 working on such projects a T700 production, GE36 design, CFE738 design, F412 design, and GE90 design, and CF34-8C design working on all rotating engine structures (high and low pressure compressors, high and low pressure turbines). David also conducted the life re-certification analysis for the CT7-5 LPT and similar work for the CT7-9 LPT. 

    In 2003, David’s company won a Phase I and later a Phase II SBIR with the US Air Force Research Lab/Materials Lab to develop a new methodology for determining the life consumed of highly stressed rotating parts as a function of varied mission usage. More recently David teamed with Brayton Energy, LLC to develop a biomass and natural gas burning recuperated land-based power turbine in the 1.2MW class as well as structures design for a large scale solar energy farm in Arizona, and turbine design for an intercooled-recuperated turbo-shaft engine for an eighteen wheel application. He has also been a consultant to Samsung Techwin of Korea to assist in development of various frame and rotating components for the Korean Helicopter Program jointly developed with GE Aircraft Engines.

  • Michael Stoddard

    Executive Director, Efficiency Maine Trust

    Michael is the Executive Director of the Efficiency Maine Trust, the independent administrator for programs that promote energy efficiency, alternative energy resources, and carbon savings in Maine. The Trust plans and manages programming for all conservation funds from the gas and electric utilities, RGGI revenues, and Forward Capacity Market revenues, as well as administers funds from various settlements and grants, which have been allocated to promote EVs, EV charging infrastructure, and heat pumps across the state. Michael was selected as the first director of the Trust upon its establishment in 2010. He serves on the Maine Climate Council (MCC); is the co-chair of the MCC Working Group on Buildings, Infrastructure and Housing; sits on Maine’s Technical Building Codes and Standards Board, and is a member of the board of E2Tech, an organization that seeks to build and expand Maine's environmental, energy, and clean technology sectors. Before coming to the Trust, Michael was Senior Counsel at the Acadia Center (formerly Environment Northeast) where he was involved in electricity restructuring across New England. 

  • Arthur Woolverton

    Northeast Regional Leader, Siemens Energy and Performance Services

    Arthur Woolverton is a regional leader for Siemens Energy & Performance Services and a longtime champion of practical, accessible sustainability solutions. With more than 20 years of experience guiding Fortune 500 companies, emerging markets, and high‑growth ventures through decarbonization and resilience strategies, he specializes in translating big‑brand sustainability approaches into real‑world, right‑sized actions for both public and private organizations.

    At Siemens, Arthur leads the Northeast region and has rebuilt one of the company’s top‑performing teams, delivering major energy‑ and carbon‑reduction projects across commercial, industrial, and MUSH sectors. Previously, he launched Honeywell’s national Sustainability Breakthrough Initiative, building a private‑sector decarbonization pipeline designed to help organizations of all sizes meet carbon‑reduction goals and modernize their infrastructure. Arthur also led strategy for Honeywell’s Energy and Environmental Solutions business and served as offering manager for data centers, energy, and healthcare.

    Arthur serves on the Executive Board of ClimateWork Maine and is a frequent speaker and mentor focused on helping organizations—large and small—move from climate intention to climate action.
