Sue Inches
Sue has a 25-year career in public policy. As Deputy Director of the Maine State Planning Office where she managed a portfolio of environmental issues on behalf of the Governor, directing research and engaging in a wide array of issues, including fisheries, land use planning, smart growth, building and energy codes, renewable energy, energy efficiency, working waterfront access, community finance, and rural broadband.
Before that, she was a Director at the Maine Department of Marine Resources.
Sue has developed a unique college course on environmental advocacy, which she now teaches at several private colleges. Demand for the course led her to write a book, out in July of 2021, called Advocating for the Environment, How to Gather Your Power and Take Action. Sue now works as a speaker, educator, and advocate with a focus on the environment and climate change. She holds a BA in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic, and MBA from the University of New Hampshire.
